Matters Arising from the Minutes of the Last Meeting.

* January Folk night was very busy with both upstairs and downstairs rooms in use.

* Restaurant night with Frances Jones Davis cooking received good customer feedback.

She will be cooking again on Sat. 5thFeb. and would consider doing so on a regular basis.

Tafarn Cwmdu Ltd report.

There has been no meeting of the business group since the last Cymdeithas meeting. After

expenditure on new items for the Tafarn cash reserves are low and an effort to have some

more pub based events will be made. Cymdeithas already pays for the TV licence and will

now pay for the Broadband service.

Bar. Rhian has left and selection is in progress to appoint a new bar person. In the meantime

extra volunteers to man the bar on Davidʼs nights off would be welcome.

Shop. The stated options for the shop put forward at last months Cymdeithas meeting are still

under discussion. Philip will put up a poster asking for volunteers to help run the Shop and Post Office.

Events and Activity Planning.

Fri. 4th Feb. - Folk night

Sat. 5th Feb. - Concert in the Chapel

Sat.5th Feb. - Frances cooking. Turkish menu.

Thurs.17th Feb. - Games night 8.00pm. Scrabble, Cribbage etc.

Sat. 19th Feb. - Philip, Colin and Huw cooking.

Sun. 20th Feb. - Bynea & Llanelli Cycling Club on their way through between

10.30 and 3.00. Pat will prepare cawl if a volunteer will serve the cyclists.

Thurs.24th Feb. - Cwmdu Book Club 8.00pm.

Tues. 1st Mar. - St Davids Day. Goronwy has arranged for Cor Meibion Dinefwr to perform

7.00pm. in the Vestry. Philip will ask Mrs Howells,(New Head Teacher), at Talley if some pupils

would like to perform, start 6.30pm. Peter Harris (Salem) will compere, Catrin will cook cawl.

Thurs.3rd Mar. - Cymdeithas 8.00pm. Hywel has a “Book a Bus” video to show after the meeting.

Fri.11th Mar. - Film evening 8.00pm. Proposed film “RED” t.b.c..

Thurs.17th Mar. - Social evening 8.00pm upstairs. Classic Coaches DVD. More details from Hywel.

Fri.25th Mar. - Quiz night 8.00pm.

Sat 25th June - Summer Fete. We have 10 National Trust volunteers staying over the weekend

who will be able to help.

Tim has proposed more use of internet technology, e.g. Facebook, twitter feeds, SMS messaging to

promote Cymdeithas events. Philip, Tim and Pat will meet to discuss further.

Tim is also willing to set up a Business website for Tafarn Cwmdu Ltd and will discuss his proposal

 further with the Business Group.
