Cymdeithas Cwmdu Meeting: 6th October 2011 Members present: 11 Present: Philip, Judy, Kate, Adam, Colin, Chris, John, Celia, Pat, Huw, Nikki.Apologies: Edwin, David R.Matters Arising from the Minutes of the Last Meeting. * A donation of £100 has been made to the Wales Air Ambulance made up of the “very modest” proceeds of Apple Day, and also in lieu of a thank you gift for Kath, at Kath's request. * Cymdeithas welcomed Adam to the meeting. * Bike Show and Music Event - Pete was happy with the numbers attending considering the bad weather and raised £1150 for LATCH. Discussion continued with the need for more structured coordination between Cymdeithas and event organisers. The Business Group will look at a tariff of charges to hire out different parts of the village facilities e.g. kitchen, bar, bar staff. * Apple Day - another very successful event in glorious weather. Thank you to all volunteers - Pat, Bryn, John Celia, Kate, Philip and Judy. The N.T. have indicated that they would like to be more involved with future events. Thank you to Paul for his informative talk and a request will be passed on to him for a “ Practical Pruning “ day. Also thank you to Margaret for a donation from the sale of her jams and chutneys. Tafarn Cwmdu Ltd. Report. Figures have been received from Edith up until the end of August. Turnover in the Bar and Shop have increased year on year but this is balanced out with increasing costs. Cymdeithas account is satisfactory and we will be able to invest in more and better electric cables for events. Adam will price up cables, lights and anti-slip UV strips for the bridge ready for future events. After many years looking after the website Kath will be handing over to Adam and Bryn who hope to have a social website and a more business focussed website with links between the two. Shop - Volunteers are now 4 in number. Kitchen - users should use the log book provided. Health and Hygiene certificates need to be updated. The next meeting of the Business Group is Wed.19th October. Events and Activity Planning. Fri. 7th Oct. - Folk Night. Thurs. 13th Oct. - Classic Club. Sat. 22nd Oct. - “Thank You Evening “ 7.30pm For all who have contributed to events in Cwmdu. Light refreshments and drinks. A.O.B. * Christmas Dinner - Philip will ask Catrin if she would like to organise again. * 49 Club winnings in the shop to be collected. * Colin will ask Alan if he would do a Halloween Quiz.
