enjoyable run this year. Kate provided coffee at the morning start. The event was led by David Ralls.

* October events were all a great success and included a private function hosted by Janet, the Book

Club, which was also a film night this month and Alanʼs Halloween Quiz.

* Survey for an improved Broadband service is still to be done. The possibility was suggested of joining

forces with residents of Tipi Valley who were trying to get something similar organised.

* Volunteers needed for the deep cleaning party on Saturday 6th November at 10.00am.

Tafarn Cwmdu Ltd. Report.

Discussions have continued along two separate lines of thought.

A self employed cook would need to be  subsidised until business increased and this would be difficult

out of present funds. It may be possible to get funding which is available from the “Sustainable Communities

Initiative” and this will be investigated  further.

The option of having hot butcher's pies available in the bar every evening has had a very favourable response.

Bryn has organised a Pie Competition for Friday 12th November at 7.00pm and has asked local butchers to

come with a selection of pies which will be tasted and judged by four Tafarn Cwmdu regulars. The winning

butcher will be asked to supply pies to the Tafarn on a regular basis. Colin will be asked to do a poster for the event.

Edith has reported that the shop is still doing well and that the bar sales are recovering after a downward turn.
