Matters Arising from the Minutes of the Last Meeting.

* There were no matters arising from the minutes.

Report from the Business Group.

* Last attendees at the Business Group, which is open to all, were Philip, Colin, Alan, Huw, Bryn, Catrin and Dan Jolley, (Welsh Cooperative Centre). Cymdeithas requested that the minutes of the meetings go on the Cwmdu website.

* At the moment Tafarn Cwmdu is not fully complying with legal requirements in some areas and these issues are being tackled and resolved by the Group.

* Shop and Tafarn - Philip reported that there had been a meeting with a supplier of an EPOS system but it was rejected as unsuitable for our particular circumstances. This provoked a heated discussion on whether any changes were necessary. Philip stated that there are to be no changes to the shop without full consultations with Kath but we must get an accurate monthly picture of the stock, profit and loss. Other systems are being assessed to enable us to do that and discussions will continue with Kath and David before any changes are made to the shop or pub.

* Kitchen - the restaurant needs to be viable every week in order to increase numbers and income for the shop and pub. Discussions are continuing to find the best way forward.

Fete Review.

* Another successful fete in glorious weather. Everyone should be congratulated on the effort and commitment shown to make the day a success. The ensuing discussion highlighted several areas for change next year.

* BBQ - more burgers and less sausages, small separate BBQ for vegeburgers, evening BBQ kept people from going home for food so numbers were good for the evening entertainment.

* Drinks in field - Bar needs a large sign in the Tafarn and on the field, also, water for sale, teas for sale. Agreed Colin will look for tea urn to buy.

* Raffle to be separate from entry ticket ?

* PA system was very quiet. Agreed to buy a more powerful system that has been offered at £500.

* Competitions - number of entries this year were up.

* Stalls - donations given were of variable amounts.

* Main event - Organised Kaos were busy all the time. Suggested alternatives for the main event next year were Fly Ball, Dog Agility or “ Quack Pack “

* Thank you to David and Jenny for stepping in and doing afternoon teas as well as evening restaurant.

* Thank you to the tree clearing team to enable Myrddin Jonesʼ double decker to drive down.

* Evening entertainment - big marquee for daytime and evening offered and erected by Steve from Tipi Valley was a great addition. Music and dancing was a great success and we feel we should possibly charge an entrance fee next year.

* A balance sheet for income and expenses was presented. £1000 was raised for “Healing the Wounds, Golden Grove Mansion Appeal“

* Next year money raised - possibly 50% to charity and 50% to Cymdeithas Cwmdu. This will be discussed before next year.

* Possible change of date for next year was rejected.
