tents for Talley Fun Day.

* Fridge has been moved into the bar area in
lieu of new chiller cabinet.
* Cwmdu sign - John will have a site meeting
with Philip. Difficulties have arisen over the size and
height of the sign needed.
* Cheque for £1000 has been sent to the
Golden Grove Appeal.
* Book Club is continuing to meet monthly.
* Folk music nights have continued over the
summer.
* A bookcase has been donated by John and
Celia for the sitting room and has some books in it
already that can be borrowed. We would welcome more books
to improve the selection on offer.

held on Tuesday 7th Sept. at 7.00pm.
Finances - bar takings are down which may be
due to, (a) the Angel in Salem now open on a
regular basis, and (b) holiday cottages have
not been fully occupied through the summer.
Shop - EPOS system has been put on hold but
changes will have to be made to get an accurate
picture of stock, profit and loss.
Pub - food sales are vital to continued
business in the pub and the employment of a cook will be
discussed. Prices for bar meals have to
compete with prices charged in, for example, the White
Hart in Llandeilo.
* 50+ Group would like to meet in Cwmdu and
are willing to pay for refreshments. One item for
discussion is the bulk ordering and
distribution of oil to benefit from a discounted price.

Visitors are being encouraged to come in 60ʼs
fancy dress.
Donations are asked for for the raffle.
Jim Hill is opening the School House to
visitors.
Bella has made a celebration cake which will
be cut by D T Davies at 2.00pm.
Elinor Jones, who launched Cymdeithas, will
give a keynote speech.
Interviews of peopleʼs memories will be
recorded on the day.
Talley History Society has thanked Cymdeithas
for the gift of a scanner, paper and ink which has
enabled the expansion of the archive.
Talley Community Council to be formally invited to the
day.
Commemorative mugs will be given to those who
bring photos and memorabilia etc., but will also
be on sale at £5.
A celebration ale, “ Cwrw Dathlu “ has been
brewed by Evan-Evans Brewery in Llandeilo.

* Kath has nomination forms for us to enter
the Countryside Alliance Awards again. Categories we
could enter are Village Shop/ Post Office
Award, Rural Enterprise Award and Daily Telegraph
Traditional Business Award. Nominations close
19th October and can also be done online.
* Cwmdu Fete photos are wanted to go on the
website.
