Tafarn Cwmdu Ltd. Report.

Figures up to the end of September show an increase in sales year on year with the Bar generally doing better than the Shop. With regret Adam has left at the end of his probationary period. Pat will step in to keep the Shop and Post Office up and running. Post Office Ltd. are taking the opportunity to change the basis on which the post office is run - to a much more limited Outreach service from Llandeilo. All agreed that this would be very damaging for Cwmdu. Action needs to be taken quickly before equipment is removed and the closure becomes permanent. To that end a petition asking that the service be retained will be available from tomorrow in the Shop and Pub for all to sign. Philip will also draft a letter for individuals to email to the relevant officer at the Post Office.

Events and Activity Planning.

A.O.B.

* Cymdeithas will ask Alan if he would organise another New Years Eve Treasure Hunt.

* We have been asked if we could store a large number of books. The upstairs storage area would need to be re evaluated to see if it were possible.

* The National Trust are considering letting out the two remaining cottages to tenants rather than keeping them on as holiday lets. We need to discuss the possible impact on the village this would have and whether Cymdeithas should get involved in further discussions with the N.T.

Next meeting: Thursday 1st December 8.00pm

Meeting closed: 9.15pm
