Members present: 13 Present: Philip and Judy, Goronwy, Colin and Chris, John and Celia, Alan and Bella, Kate, Jo, Nikki, Janet.Apologies: David, Edwin, Ron.Matters Arising from Minutes of the last meeting: * Village sign board - Nikki will follow up on the input from Cymdeithas Cwmdu regarding the text on the board. * Successful games evening enjoyed by all - Scrabble, Cribbage, Taboo and Jenga were played. * Llandeilo Hunt - numbers were disappointing and we may have to cancel any involvement next year. * Line drawings - decision deferred until upstairs room is finished. Electrical socket covers in Blue room need repairing.Business report. Finance. £150 received from County Council as payment for holding Welsh classes in the Tafarn. There was agreement to purchase table lamps, rug and mirror in Traditional style for the sitting room upstairs. Colin and Chris have volunteered to find suitable items. There is a printer in store which will be used to replace Kaths own printer in the shop. Cymdeithas Cwmdu will buy any cartridges needed. Bar. Cumulative takings up by £2300 up to end of November. Shop. Continuing increase in sales. Cumulative takings up by nearly £3000 up to end of November. Prices are very competitive with those in Llandeilo and it was suggested that a flyer to promote the shop should go out with the January edition of The Post. A sign for the shop at the junction of the Cwmdu road with the B road was proposed. John and Philip will discuss further. Kitchen. Another meeting of the cooks to be held with a view to getting a rota for January. Ralph will be asked to organise Hygiene Certificate training for all who need it. Forthcoming events. December 5th - Folk night. December 10th - Classic Club. December 11th - Cwmdu Christmas Dinner. December 13th - Sunday School lunch. December 15th - Dinner for Apostolic Chapel. (private party ) December 18th - Christmas Carols around the Tree. 6pm followed by mince pies and mulled wine. December 23rd - Tom Corcoranʼs Pre-Christmas Quiz. ( to be confirmed ) December 25th - Open Christmas morning 11.00 ʻtil 1.00. December 31st - Johnʼs New Years Eve Quiz. American supper - bring a plate of food to share. Raffle. A.O.B. Thank you to the Community Council who have provided Daffodil bulbs which will be planted in the pub garden and the planters outside the Tafarn. Thank you to Celia for doing our entry for the Welsh Countryside Alliance Awards for Best Village Shop. We are through to the Finals! Next meeting - Thursday 7th January 2010 Meeting closed 9.05pm.
